Left the pan on the burner on high. After steaming hot, I put it under steaming hot water. Did I just remove the top layer of seasoning or was this all carbonized

Is this rust? Newly re-seasoned the pan after a big oops. Cooked bacon in it yesterday and this happened after the wash. Scrubbed with chain mail and this is still showing.
