They are made with standard low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and a proprietary additive that allows them to biodegrade 15% within one year in landfills as per ASTM D5511 for testing and proving the biodegradation of plastic materials under anaerobic landfill conditions; testing was performed by an independent accredited lab – Northeast Laboratories, Inc.
